Design and Project Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Design and Project Manager role is responsible for supporting customers and the CFS sales team through the design process, which includes space planning, product specifications, presentations, pricing, project management, and customer support. It involves close collaboration with the sales team, product manufacturers, and installation teams. A typical day in this position might include creating a marketing deck for the sales team, creating project specifications for a prospective customer, and communicating shipping updates to the sales and operations team. Successful team members are self-starters and problem solvers. They are organized leaders that share in our team vision of prioritizing customer service, honesty, and integrity.

 

RESPONSIBLITIES

  • Interact with CFS clients and their project teams to develop interior design solutions

  • Work concurrently on multiple projects; large and small; supporting 2-4 members of the sales team

  • Interpret our clients project specifications and visions into functional, practical and, aesthetically pleasing interior design solutions

  • Design within our clients’ budgets – or have good explanations for why they may want to stretch them….

  • Develop client presentations and assists in client meetings and presentations

  • Select and specify required project furnishings appropriately and accurately

  • Produce drawings with products, elevations, dimensions, product numbers, and finishes for CFS’ installation teams

  • Draft plan view drawings, 2d vignettes, and renderings as required

  • Specify CFS preferred lines of contract furniture as often as possible

  • Participates in marketing, networking and community events as specified by management

 

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field from an accredited school or university

  • Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, and Adobe PhotoShop

  • Working knowledge of BOMA standards and square footage calculations

  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written

  • Detail oriented with the requirement to take accurate and detailed notes during all client, vendor and project interactions

  • Pro-active; self-motivated with a can-do attitude

  • Highly motivated; excellent time management practices; able to prioritize working on multiple projects for importance and scheduling

  • A person who can work successfully with all CFS employees, clients and their teams – a collaborative attitude

  • Having a high level of conceptual creativity, innovative thinking and problem solving

  • Demonstrate interest in continuing education and professional development

  • Being flexible, adaptable and detail oriented

  • Able to be professional and, have fun with CFS staff and clients

HOURS/EXPECTATIONS

Full-time, 40+ hours per week.

FSLA Exempt
